The stainless steel counterweights for the G-11 and GM-8 are back in stock. Stainless steel weights are also available for Takahashi mounts, and Astro-Physics 900 & 1200 mounts.

These weights match the elegance of a precision machined mount, and don't have the problems of causing damage to the counterweight shaft with rust and gouging of other weights. Also, no paint to chip. They are made of stainless steel, brass, bronze, and plastic (knob). So, there is nothing to rust. Each weight has a bronze bushing to protect the counterweight shaft. A spring-loaded brass plunger is used between the knob and the counterweight shaft to prevent gouging of the shaft. The stainless steel return spring retracts the plunger when the knob is loosened to keep it out of the way when you slide the weight onto the shaft. The edges of the counterweight are rounded to make handling easier.

Three sizes are available:

6 x 1" 7lbs $75.00 +12.00 shipping*

6 x 2" 15lbs $98.00 +15.00 shipping*

6 x 3" 23lbs $110.00 +18.00 shipping*

Weights vary for different mounts due to differences in bore size.

*Shipping quotes for the Continental 48 States only.

Please see my web page for more information.

The weight pictured below fits the 1.875" dia. shaft of the Astro-Physics 900/1200 mounts.
