This is the book that started me down the road to what has become the largest hobby-obsession in my life. Actually it was a 1939 copy that I found in a quaint used bookstore near my home, which I foolishly sold 3 or 4 years ago after finding a complete and recent 3-volume set. I acquired this 1935 - 4th Edition thinking it would fill the emotional vacuum and make me whole again, but it just wasn't the same ;^). I guess first love never comes again...
Still, it's GREAT holding a 1935 copy of Amateur Telescope Making in your hands, printed way back when it all started, and pondering how many lives this awesome collection of articles has touched.
This book is in excellent condition--tight and with no marks that I can find other than what looks like a couple *very old* rouge fingerprints on a couple of the pages. They are very light and only add to the nostalgia.
No commercial telescope will get you excited again once you start making your own!
$20 shipped media rate in the CONUS.
CLOUDY skies to you!! (Better motivation to stay in the shop making telescopes instead of wasting your time out under the stars :-)
P.S. Shown below is my latest completion. Many, many telescopes have I made in the past 10 years, all thanks to finding this incredible book. I hope you will find it as inspiring as I have.
