Fellow ASTROMARTers, THE OTA IS SOLD, THANKS FRED & ALL
The 8 inch (20cm, 203mm, etc.) OTA is the classic SCT design and has a focal length of 2000mm (f/10). I have owned this SCT since I bought it from the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) store on a "Red Tag" discount which they placed onto the scope to move it out of the way for the NextStar 8i that now sits in the corner window. The store staff said it sat in the window for over five years. So it is an older model. I don't even know the serial number, but with coaching, I could get that information for you. This has been a real sweet scope. I have never cleaned or disassembled it. The factory collumnation has held well enough to compete with my observing buddy's 8 inch Meade LX-10, so my scope is at the very least an average performer and maybe better than average in performance. I'm no expert, but I've seen what was supposed to be seen in an 8 inch scope of this vintage. It puts my C-102 refractor in it's place every time I've compared them (no false color and a brighter image too). I have lot's of accessories for this scope and first offer them as additions, so you can pick and choose what you want to go with the OTA. I feel that this SCT is a great starter scope or an upgrade path. I'm looking for about $600 to make the upgrade to a ten inch Meade LX-50 work, so make me an offer for the C-8 OTA and whichever acessories you see in the photo below (as soon as I get it uploaded). I also have some filters to sell that aren't pictured, so ask me about them too.
Thanks for your consideration,
P.S. Please check my 5-star ratings and e-mail me with any questions you may have about this OTA and/or accessories. Preference will be given to a buyer that can meet me in Oregon or Washington state and/or can pay by Paypal, USPS Money Order or cash. I really prefer to show this OTA to you before sale, but will make sure you are happy as I want another 5-star rating.
