SOLD....Previous deal fell through so I'm re-listing this 17 month old Nightsky 16in F/4.5 scope, which features Pegasus optics and outstanding construction quality. The superb 1.6" thick mirror (certified in writing by John Hall, owner of Pegasus) has a .98 Strehl, 1/39.3 wavefront RMS, and wavefront P-V error of 1/13.6. Construction quality is among the finest I’ve seen on a larger dob. Lots of nice details, like the expertly done joinery on the mirror box to the 18 point mirror cell to the accessory plate on the secondary structure for those of you who wish to add an optical finder. See the Nightsky web site for photos. The 16” scope pictured (and reproduced below) is this very scope. I was so impressed by the quality that I sent photos to Jim Nadeau for inclusion on his web site. Also check out Ed Ting’s site for a detailed review of the Nightsky 16” truss structure.

The scope comes with the Rolls Royce of focusers, the remarkable Feathertouch, as well as a Telrad, elasticized light shroud and wheelbarrow handles. The current price charged by Nightsky for this setup is $3,900 plus shipping and a wait of 6 - 8 months. My price is $2,900, pickup only. I live in the SF Bay Area near Berkeley, so if you’re interested, stop by and check out this beauty. It's a great scope and it's available now without the 6-8 month wait. Rob Mackie
