As a collector of astro books, I can tell you that this book is about as good as it gets. I'm parting with my second copy. The book is called "Hutchinson's Spendour of the Heavens", edited by Rev T.E.R. Phillips and Dr. W.H. Steavenson. 1920. London. 9 x 11 x 2.5 inches. 980 pages. Must weigh 5 lbs. Massive. 1104 illustrations with 25 Colored Plates. Good condition. Ex-library from the Cranbrook Institute of Science. No rear library card pocket.
The book covers so many areas....ranging from the history of astronomy, observations, telescopes just to name a few areas of coverage. Goodacre moon map in sections (last chapter). If you took this book to a club meeting, you would astound your friends. This book is rarely offered. The few times over the years I've seen this book for sale, the price has been between $ 150-200. My price is $ 100.00 and this includes shipping and insurance. This is a most fair price. It will take a strong box to ship this massive and most valuable collectible book. Expect to be impressed in every way.
