From SBIG to ATWB:
We are building a small run of PARALLEL versions of the ST-7ME and ST-9E cameras. The ST-7ME uses the new high QE ME CCD, the same as the USB version ST-7XME. The ST-9E uses the same Class 1 E CCD as the USB version. These cameras are full self-guiding cameras with new imaging CCDs. To save costs we are upgrading reconditioned circuit boards and some machine parts. However, all of the accessories and imaging CCDs are new and the cameras carry a full new warranty. They do NOT include some of the usual accessories: hard case, extra 2" nosepiece, and in the ST-7ME we will use a Class 2 CCD with no column defects instead of the usual Class 1. In the ST-9E we will use a TC-211 guide chip instead of the 237 we are currently using in the USB version. This, plus the slower interface, will distinguish these low cost alternatives from their higher priced USB counterparts. However, as far as the image is concerned, they are every bit as capable as their more expensive USB versions. US List price for the ST-7ME is $1295. US List price for the ST-9E is $1995,
