Most SCT’s are usually supplied with a wedge and a tripod so that they can be used in the equatorial mode. This simple, elegant and lightweight Tuthill Isostatic Mount acts as both a wedge and a tripod, and, at the same time permits the user to sit down comfortably while viewing. All this, and it also does a much better job of absorbing vibration due to its sturdy redwood and steel construction, which will support scopes from the ETX90 all the way up to a C9.25.
Setup and take down are fast and easy, and the unit folds up into a light-weight small package - the results are solid. This is IMHO a major design improvement with practical benefits over the uncomfortable, inconvenient and less stable systems that come with these SCTs from Meade and Celestron.
The Tuthill mount is in perfect condition since it was only used a few times in the back yard, and, the scope utilizing it was sold some time ago.
