This stereo microscope includes the SMZ-2B binocular optical body, 0.8x to 5x continuous zoom range; 10x widefield eyepieces; #76265 focus mount; and #76140 universal boom stand with rack & pinion motion for boom arm extension. The final magnification, as configured, is 8x to 50x; other accessories can be obtained that provide up to 330x. The base is attached to an extra wide plate, for increased stability. The mount allows great versatility in viewing large or awkward objects. This is one of Nikon’s finest stereo systems; it cost $2500 in 1990. Its condition is excellent, optically, mechanically, and cosmetically. Weight ~36 lbs. It out performs all other stereo microscopes that I have used, including B&L SZ-7. It's great for fossils, meteorites, pathology, etc. I'm only selling because I have another.
