I have a mint condition Tele Vue Genesis sdf OTA that was cleaned and collimated by Tele Vue in July of this year that I will reluctantly sell to help finance a new astro purchase.
The Genesis sdf is the forerunner of today's $3,500 TV NP101. It is a 101mm APO, f/5.4, Petzval design (just like today's $3,500 NP101!) using four Special Dispersion glass and Flourite elements (...thus sdf) to absolutely eliminate false colors and present a flat field at the eyepiece.
One of the best tests for false colors is the moon and Vega. This scope does not introduce any color artifacts to these objects. Star tests show text book perfect concentric rings both intra and extra focal and a symetrical Airy pattern under higher powers.
The views through this scope can be jaw-dropping. Mars has been amazing. Details on Saturn and its rings are stunning. In fact, the weakest link in the optical chain will be based on the quality of your eyepeice- not the optics of this scope.
The optics are squeaky clean and pristine thanks to the recent servicing at Tele Vue. They are essentially as new.
This package includes:
mint condition Tele Vue Genesis sdf OTA (540mm f/5.4);
brand new(!) Tele Vue clamshell batwing style mounting ring;
