If you're still not getting those pinpoint star images on film,
you should know by now that Vari-mags, Brightscreens, and smokestack
magnifiers really don't do the trick. The problem is not with these
devices, but rather with your own eye which continually and
automatically compensates for out of focus images. This can be
compensated for in normal viewing - (ever notice how many times you hit the electric focuser when viewing a planet?)- but catastrophic for focusing a camera which has an unforgiving film-plane distance.

The Series IV 'Stiletto' focuser takes your eyeball out of the
focusing equation altogether using easy knife-edge focusing
techniques. You can be close to blind (or have cataracts like me)
and still attain exact focus with a Series IV in only seconds.
The precision ronchi gratings used in the design guarantee it!

Plus, the Series IV uses a completely modular approach. This gives
you the flexibility to change from one 35mm, CCD, or medium format camera to another on the fly. You simply unscrew one modular mount and screw in another. And Series IV modular mounts are available for all 35mm and CCD cameras. As your astrophotography hobby evolves, the Series IV will evolve with you and can be used with your future equipment - and that includes all of the newer digital 35mm SLRs too!

Check out the Series IV techical details on our website today.
And if you think we don't have a model to match your camera too, well, we do!

Clear Skies!
