Edmund Scientific manual heavy cast metal EQ mount complete with 42" pier and "legs" and 5 lb. counterweight.
The head is the usual heavy cast style with axis lock screws and no slow motions or circles, fully manual.
It is likely a product from the 70s, and is the later teflon bushing style. I believe the only alteration was to add a carry handle on the pier, an excellent addition.
The last owner gave it an excellent "titanium" tone paint job over the intact original crinkle finish, and it looks very nice.
The cast in saddle appears to be for a 4" or 5", which appears consistent with the shaft diameter.
I bought it for the telescope attached and never used the mount, but the prior owner had a couple of these mounts and actively used them. I was told that they were excellent "push along" mounts (like a dob) once they were dynamically balanced.
For the collector or user.
