Plans for this scope have changed. My original intents for this FCT was to piggyback it on my FC100N atop all the other Tak scopes on the EM-500 for astrophotography, but the FCT-76 sits too far from the focus point (over 3ft.) and strains my mount's bearings. Since I haven't a portable photographic mount for this FCT-76, I've decided to sell it.
The lens is in absolutely new condition. No scratches on lens nor blemishing on the coatings. The middle section of the ota has a few very tiny paint chips, but with the incorporation FS-78 tubering, these are extremely hard to see. The FCT is the rack-and-pinion model with rotatable focuser. The FS/FCT tubering is in mint condition.
I was able to take the FCT-76 with me to TMSP and I received phenominal low power sweeps of the galactic core near Sagittarius and a simply lovely frame of M31 at only 12x with my 40mm TV Widefield. The FCT is photographic ready with all the extensions you'll need for straight through and diagonal viewing applications. I will also include the expensive Borg 2-inch adapter for use of larger oculars. Pictures of this ota will be provided later because I do not have possession of a digital camera at this time.
I am up for partial trades plus cash or cash. My asking price of the FCT-76 with accessories is $2000 plus shipping unless we can meet within 250 miles. If the platform you offer for trade is of equal value to the FCT, then it would be a straight trade.
Some things I am looking for: Pentax SMCs, Pentax or Nikon 6x7 format camera, Naglers, Televue Systems eq. mount with drives, Super Polaris Deluxe (DX) eq. mount with drives, Collins 3-I 4th generation night vision ocular, HD-145 Ceravolo, AP/Zeiss binoviewer, 30mm Leitz Leica ocular with 90 deg. fov.
Very good seeing to all,
Veradale Mobile Observatory (The Takahashi Experience)
