Lumicon Focal Reducer & 2” visual back for SCT - $50 shipped CONUS
I acquired this with a SCT, and used it a few times over the past 2 years. This is probably an early version of the Lumicon Rich Field Viewer. I never received documentation, but will try to describe it as well as I could below:
See photo – Ring in foreground threads into SCT. One of the two anodized adapters slides onto the ring and is held in place by 3 brass knurled screws. Both adapters take 2” accessories. One has a focal reducer (converts f/10 to about f/6). Thus, you can quickly switch between f/10 and f/6 by changing the adapters, a bit more convenient that the thread-on Meade or Celestron focal reducers.
The multicoated lens is in great shape. One of the adapters has some wear on the anodizing on the inside, and the SCT ring has the usual wear from the knurled screws. The inside of one adapter has a strip of Protostar flock paper to cut down internal reflection. The paper has popped out a little, but does not interfere with observing.
