Rob Teeter built this Planet Killer as a prototype to the new line he’s now manufacturing from his NJ workshop. I purchased this scope last October and love it. But, with a new baby on the way I'm finally facing up to the reality of a lifestyle change (read: grab and go!)
Steve Swayze f/5.5 primary is center-spotted using the Cat’s Eye System. The coating is 1.5 years old. It’s mounted on a 9-point flotation cell with three point collimation. It does have a small edge chip that is mostly concealed by the mirror clip and does not effect the views this great performer can yield.
The Baltic birch structure is solid. The truss connectors are Moonlight, very easy to use, very sturdy. The scope also has two wheelbarrow handles perfect for rolling the scope out of the garage into the back yard.
-2.14” secondary on a Wolanski off-set secondary and spider with 3 standard flat-head collimation screws (very easy to use)
-eyepiece rack on front of rocker box
-Night Owl Shroud
-Cat’s Eye and Howie Glatter 1.25” Laser Collimator (a $135 value)
-2(.34 amp) spring-mounted cooling fans and a 12 volt battery which velcros onto the back of the mirror box.
-Kineoptics HC-2 (Helical Crayford) focuser, simple and elegant.
-Teflon/ebony star bearings
-unmounted hardware for Sky Commander DCSs (encoder mounts and a aluminum plate to Velcro the SC controller too)
I live in the Rochester, NY area. Pick up only, though I would be willing to drive a short distance to meet. $1750 with Glatter collimator, $1650 without. Email me with inquiries and more pics.
