This is a home-made OTA with a good research-grade lens made by Vixen's supplier in Japan. Images are sharp and contrasty, with hardly any chromatic aberration at this focal ratio. I built this to have a good planetary refractor but space being taken by successive projects since then are necessitating some 'spring cleaning'.
Also with this I have an Edmund Scientific EQ mount with beautiful Maple (I think) legs (though one is 'bowed' in a bit) and mounting rings for the tube. 1.25" focuser has a dovetail bracket that will accept many typical dovetail finders such as come with Chinese shorttube scopes and such.
If you're looking for a decent refractor but you don't like chromatic aberrations and can't afford an apo, a long-focus refractor like this is just the thing. Would like to try to find a local buyer first, this thing is really long. Asking $425 for the whole setup picked up local (about $200-225 less than the materials cost), or $350 shipped conus for OTA w/focuser+rings or $245 shipped conus for just the lens in cell.
