THE SCOPE: This is an Orion SkyView Deluxe 6” Reflector. The optics are in good condition. Comes with a 6x30 finderscope, and a Mars Red-eye (1x) laser finder. I’ll even throw in a secondary mirror heater to help combat dew (uninstalled- Kendrick Dew Remover System; retails for $23).

THE MOUNT: This is an Apogee Heavy-Duty German Equitorial Mount (essentially a generic CG-5). This mount is more than adequate for the SVD-6 telescope, and could even handle a larger one. It comes with 6” tube rings. Slow motion adjustment knobs on both axes as well as a dual axis drive with slew speeds up to 8x (see picture). Battery pack included. The mount has a built in, illuminated, polar alignment scope.

TRIPOD: A heavy, sturdy wooden tripod, which absorbs more vibration than a metal one. Much more stable than the flimsy one that generally comes with this telescope.

NOTES: Just so that all is said about this scope: there are scuff marks from normal wear. I have misplaced the front lens cap to the 6x30 finder, but the lenses are still in good condition. The wing nut for the counter weight has broken on one side, but it still works. The primary mirror has a center dot placed to aid in collimation (this does not impair then optics). I’d like to keep my eyepieces (26mm Meade 4000; 10mm Orion Sirius plossls) for my next scope, but I may considering selling them if it will help close the deal. Why am I selling this? This was my first scope, and it taught me a lot. I hate to sell it, but I need the money to go bigger. I’m asking $380 for the package plus $30 for S&H to mainland US. Feel free to email me if you have questions or like to see more pictures.
