Excellent Antares model 119DRG 90mm, f/11.1 (1000mm) refractor with the JAPANESE objective, NOT CHINESE. It is on the same mount that Orion sells their model 90EQ. (SOLD)
The OTA has had the lens hood blackened with Protostar flocking paper.
The rings are flat-based to fit on any flat surface.
Rings are tapped with standard 1/4-20 holes.
I bought two, new 1/4-20 rosette knobs to hold rings to adapter plate I made for the mount.
The drawtube is oversized at 1.45 inches, so there is no "mechanical obstruction" for 1.25" eyepieces.
The 1.25" eyepiece holder screws into the drawtube, as shown in photo.
Focuser has been snugged and re-lubricated and has no slop or shift.
I bought (seperately) a like-new 1.25" mirror diagonal. It is Celestron/VIXEN, not Chinese like current models.
Has a crosshair 6x30 finder with focusable objective.
I have an email I can forward from the importer describing this model and the JAPANESE objective.
One, small paint chip on the tube about the size of a dime, where rings used to fit.
I have used this to 165x on Jupiter, Saturn and Moon with NO color fringing on the planets, and just a bit on the Moon's limb when off-axis. Double stars are killer. Easily outperforms any 90mm MAK.
I bought ($25) three new slo-mo cables so one (Dec) is always at the focuser, and one is toward the observer on either side of the RA axis, as seen in photo. Even with aluminum legs, the mount is very smooth and stable, especially when using the slo-mo cables. Only difficulty with 90mm, f/11, and me, is vibration when focusing.
Will sell the whole assembly for $275 shipped UPS. I would sell the OTA and mount seperately for (SOLD)OTA, with rings and diagonal, and $80 mount, but ONLY if the OTA sells first. Mount would easily carry a "short-tube" scope, even 102mm. (BOTH SOLD)
