Here is a classic Celestron/Vixen Super Polaris mount. It includes the following: Vixen motor drives with DMD-1 controller (worked fine last time I tried them as I recall but not guaranteed), polar scope (hard to find), one original counterweight.
They say honesty is the best policy, so I will be as honest as I can about this mount. It is missing the following: field end polar scope cap, counterweight "keeper" that threads into the bottom of weight shaft, accessory tray, plastic cover for motor drive, possibly other stuff I don't know about. Note that I did not know any of these parts were missing until I saw another SP that had them. They are all non-critical.
The paint has some chips. The wooden legs are solid but scratched. The cover for the "eye end" of the polar scope is cracked. The counterveight shaft is quite scratched. The plastic "AA" battery holder is decayed and will likely require replacement (likely cheap from Radio Shack) or creative repair. The tripod "spreader" is a bit bent but works. Illuminator is included, but not the pen light piece.
So, I have painted an ugly picture, but the mount works fine mechanically. It is VERY smooth and easy to use and backlash free as far a I can tell, and deserves a good home. These SP's are the "original" from which all of the current Vixen clone mounts were poorly copied. I am only selling it because I replaced it a while ago with a SP-DX.
Asking $425 shipped CONUS or best reasonable offer.
I would consider selling the drives and mount separately.
Thanks for looking.
