I am selling an excellent 12.5" Starliner OTA that is convertible for use as an F/12 cassegrain or as an F/4 Newtonian simply by switching secondaries (and doing a bit of collimating). Included with the OTA are:
- Original F/4 primary in excellent condition
- cass and newt secondaries also in great shape
- original hinged mounting rings
- custom mounting plate which can be used with the attached (but removable) Losmandy dovetail plate or drilled to adapt to other mounts
- 6x30 finder
- Carton 60mm guide scope with mounting rings
- Original tube balance system w/sliding weight

I bought this scope several months back and have not really used it as it is too large and awkward for my upstairs location. It arrived with a mirror adjustment screw that had pulled free of it's epoxy mooring so I sent the cell off to Al's machining and he replaced the screws with a more secure arrangement. He also fabricated the mounting plate which is aluminum 1/2 x 7 x 26" with a 23" LOsmandy dovetail affixed to the bottom.

The newtonian focuser is the original Telescopics 1 1/4" rack and pinion unit with helical fine-focus. The cassegrainian focuser is a Feather Touch (includes 1 1/4" adapter) that threads onto the back plate. This scope is in very good to excellent condition and has excellent optics. I would really like to do a local transaction and would sell it for $1500 if picked up ( roughly what I have in it after adding the plate and repairing the mirror cell). If shipped, $1600.00 plus shipping.
