This is the original "grenade" that wowed us in the late 1980s. I purchased it new in 1986 (I think... things are fading a bit..) and it introduced me to the Nagler spacewalk experience with the 82 degree apparent field. Original 13mm Naglers were definitely not daytime eyepieces, as there was noticeable kidney bean effect, but I never had trouble with it as an astronomical eyepiece. People tended to either love or hate this eyepiece - those who weren't adept at consistent eye placement were bugged by the kidney beaning, while the rest of us just ate up the views and marveled that an eyepiece could command this wide a field and be so well corrected. Best that you know where you fit in this dichotomy.....
Has lived in good eyepiece cases when not in use; never dropped or otherwise abused, not subjected to excessive dust or other nasty environments. Some very light scuffing on the face surrounding the eyelens (and I mean light - the anodizing is not penetrated and only one short scuff can be felt using a fingernail) which resulted from allowing eyeglass wearers to use it right after I bought it. Stopped that and the last scuff happened when Reagan was president ...
Some light setscrew marks on the barrels (it's 2" or 1.25) but no nasty gouges or anything. I'd rate it good to very good mechanically and excellent optically. Dust caps - not original (there was no original upper cap with these) included, and I'm conducting an archeological dig in my storage room to try to locate the original box - no guarantee that I'll be able to locate it, though.
