This 8", F4 scope is patterned after Ron Ravenburg's "Alice". It has two truss tubes, 1.25" x 21.5" and the overall height of the scope, including the rocker box is 33". The scope comes apart with 4 knobs and the focuser board slides down into two slots in the mirror box. By lifting and rotating the mirror box, the scope reduces down to a package 16" x 11.5" x 11.5". Removing the trunions reduces the height from 16" to 12.5". The light shield is also easily removed by loosening two thumb screws. Also included is a thin, 7" aluminum disk which attaches to the back of the secondary with velcro in place of the larger light shield.

The included tripod, made from solid birch hardwood, is adjustable in height from about 22" up to 37", making viewing comfortable from a seated position or standing. There are also altitude and and azimuth manual setting circles. The azimuth setting circles are on a floating ring which can be rotated independently of the mirror box.

The primary mirror is from the same makers as Orion mirrors, purchased from rkastro in Canada, and the 2.25" secondary mirror is from Orion.

This scope has nice, wide field views yet gives decent magnification with it's 800mm+ focal length.

$600 shipped anywhere in continental US.
