You are going to want to shoot the Leonids with a 50mm lens and film camera, why drag your scope around when you don't need to? Or shoot any wide-field targets anytime. Just add camera and go.
This is the "Vista Sky-Trak 3", the fancier version of Vista's tracker. Unlike the basic versions, this will accept 12 volts so you can run it anywhere, and has a switch for operating in the northern or southern hemisphere. Simple concept - put an accurate motor on a worm and wheel and let it track as long as you want.
Polar align it by sighting through the hollow center shaft. It is threaded for a polar scope, so you can probably rig something up if you care to. Red LED tells you when it is powered up and running.
Mechanically it works fine, some cosmetic paint dings.
Includes the tracker and counterweight, the camera and tripod shown in the photos are not part of the deal.
Asking $250 plus actual shipping from Southern California 92626, PayPal preferred.
