Custom by Mike Russell. Dob mount for MN61 and perhaps some others. Uses the rings as mounting point. Very Nice!

Previous deal for whole unit fell right through.

However, I recived a great response to the mount and I know exactly why. Rated, "Very smooth" by astro guys at Stellefane, and believe me it is! Do you like tracking satellites with your dob? With this you will.

Please make offers because I have no true idea. However, if you really want to hear a price from me then how about $250 shipped, ha. Make offers.

Thank you for your interest.

Regards fellow astronuts,

John Lambson

In his own words. Mr. Miie Russell:

I built the Dob mount with 18mm 9-ply plywood, finished with five coats of marine gloss varnish. The altitude bearings are the usual four Crazy Ed Teflon pads riding on Ebony Star Formica. There are two guide pads to keep the alt quadrants centered on the base, which also bear against Ebony Star. The 1/2" center pivot bolt rides in a ball bearing. For the azimuth bearings, I found that there was too much friction using the standard three Teflon pads bearing on Ebony Star, so I replaced two of the three pads with precision ball bearings - now there's just enough friction.
