A manual focus Nikkor. The glass and coatings are in excellent condition. The objective is permanently protected by a 122mm Nikon skylight filter which I remove for astro work. The diaphragm is free and smooth, with no oil on the blades. The body of the lens shows brassing, but that will not affect the quality of your astro photos. This is the quintessential wide field astro photo lens short of a Schmidt camera. Proper focus is extremely sensitive. To get pin point star images I recommend you calibrate the lens to your camera as described by Robert Reeves in his book "Widefield Astrophotography." The lens is very heavy, over 9 pounds. It requires supplemental support, the tripod screw by itself is insufficient for long time exposures.
B&H Photo sells this lens used for $1800 (poor) to $2200 (good). The camera is not included, it is shown for scale purposes only. Caps are included. I will part with it for $1500 plus insured shipping of your choice. US sales only. Paypal preferred.
