2 inch prism diagonal "made in Japan," this usually means Vixen or
a subcontractor of Vixen.
This is a USED diagonal at a USED price. Optically clean, some paint chipping. Good for two reasons:
===>Has a shorter draw tube than the mirror diagonals. That means extra focus travel, which is good if you're using a focal reducer or ultra block style filter that screws on to the tube. (with these filters on in front of the diagonal you can lose ability to focus esp. with a barlow)
==>At this price, a good starter 2" diagonal so you can get some 2" eyepieces, will serve you well till you pop for the AP Maxbright.
Has a ring to screw on to the usual 2" visual back. I've spotted Pal 14 and and found Brian Skiff's 15th mag stars in the M57 star field with this diagonal on my C14, right at the limited of rated limiting magnitude. I consider it ready for good service.
$58 shipped con usa usps. 2" *Japanese* prisms are good quality items. 2" format is the BEST thing you can do to move to mind blowing views in your 8, 9.25, 10, 11, 12 or 14" sct.
