There was a LOT of interest in this scope (over 600 hits)but it is not yet sold. I WILL ship if necessary, and have reduced the price.

DYING for that new Meade 8” f/4 Schmidt Newtonian so you can perfectly fill a 35mm frame with M31 or the Rosette and shoot it in 5-10 minutes? Or use a 2x extender and shoot the Orion Nebula at f/8? Or use a 3x extender and shoot the Eskimo Nebula at f/12 in about 5 minutes? Were you promised that scope as a Christmas present but Meade won’t ship? Well….. here is the original MTS-SN8 LX3. Same basic 8” f/4 optics offering super flexibility for astrophotography. Mount is not a go-to, but has Meade’s high quality LX-3 dual axis drive and hand controller on a fork and pier mount. 2” Focuser is a “push-pull/helical” design beautifully machined of anodized aluminum --- looks a lot nicer than the new version’s focuser, and is reminiscent of the old Cave design. Includes Scope and mount, hand control, 12V power cord, and Telrad. No finderscope or guidescope. (I used an SS-80 as a combo finder/guider --- with about a 5x barlow, of course!)

Winter --- Orion-shooting season --- starts today. Want to do astrophotography or wait for Meade to ship?

Asking $700/offer complete, plus shipping. I am guessing 50# and two boxes for shipping.

(Why am I selling? Well…. YOU put two girls through college and find the bonuses have dried up! Something has to go! The DS-16 will be next if things don’t pick up!)
