A Practical Observing Guide by Peter Manly. $15 plus $3 s/h within conus.
To quote the jacket "how-to guide for this popular telescope, packed with useful advice on getting best from scope -- practical tips and valuable information ---- observing techniques for moon, sun, planets, stars, galaxies"
Although this is broad enough to cover most amature scopes, I liked fact that Manly gives good idea the difficulty level associated with certain targets compared to capability of the 8" SCT. Gives a good understanding what to expect. Also like the sections on maintenance and cleaning. Good discussion of mounts and vibration, collimation. Published in 96
This book looks brand new EXCEPT that I have yellow highlight some key points on perhaps a dozen scattered pages. Not a distraction, but I need make this known.
