This is a nicely modified C-14 Tripod and C-14 Wedge.

The tripod has had the legs shortened to make it more stable. It also has an integrated wheel assembly that can be disengaged when you reach your viewing location. Nice large wheels roll over most anything and have built in shock absorbtion with the chain assembly. When the wheels are disengaged the tripod sits on it's own legs rather than on screws like the WheelyBars. This is a far superior set-up for both ease of movement and stability. The center section of the tripod has extra holes drilled/tapped (at a machine shop) that allow it to mate to a GM200 peir cap.

Price: $350 local pick-up in Oakland California or you pay packing/shipping.

This is modified C-14. Holes have been drilled in the tilt-plate that allow mounting of any Meade LX series SCT drive-base. There are no tools handles for adjusting the tilt-plate (no more fooling with allen wrenches). A bubble level has been installed on the wedge to assist in leveling. Note: the image shows no-tools handles on both the tilt plate and sides of wedge. The ones on the sides have been replaced with normal allen screws so you get the two that adjust the tilt plate. I kept bumping the ones on the sides and found I didn't need them anyway.)

Price: $350 Picked up in Oakland or you packing and shipping.

Take both for $650 picked up in Oakland, CA. Thats less than the price of just an equivalent Meade tripod of this size.

Both items have been seen some use. Functionally they are great. Cosmetically they are fine .... but they are not showroom. If showroom is important to you just grab a can of paint <grin>.
