Selling this United Optics 70mm f/5 Quad refractor. It's the same scope as the old Meade 6000 70mm f/5 APO Quadruplet and the Orion Telescopes EON 70mm ED Quad Astrograph. The optics are fantastic - very flat field across a large sensor. I've included a few images I took through the scope over the last few years. In excellent condition with just the usual wear marks on the dovetail bar and rings. Optics are in excellent shape. Included are tube rings, top and bottom dovetail (bottom is a standard Vixen style), 54mm-48 stepdown adapter, as well as caps for the front (slip fit) and back (48mm thread-on cap). Please note that originally it also came with a 48mm to 42mm stepdown, but I can't locate that adapter any longer. It's readily available online, but may not be an adapter you want if you have a APS or larger format camera, as there will be more vignetting at the small opening size. No instruction manual or case is included.
The back focuser opening is threaded female 54mm, and please note this is a photographic scope only - it wasn't designed for visual, mostly because it's a direct camera thread-on connection, and you probably will have difficulty finding focus (if you can find some adapter to get it to accept an eyepiece) as it was meant for cameras to thread directly on. You probably will need a series of 54mm or 48mm spacer rings, depending on your specific imaging train. All specs are available online if you search for the telescopes I listed above - looks like HighPoint still as a few of the Orion version left to check spec details.
Weighs just over 6 lb, and if you remove it from the rings and retract the focuser all the way, the scope is crazy compact and portable (see the image of me holding it). Asking $1000 (if Paypal G&S please add the 3% fee), and would prefer someone local to the SF bay area so I don't have to bother with shipping. But if no one is local, I will ship to CONUS if buyer pays shipping.
Thanks for looking! Let me know if you have any questions, and I can also take other images if you want to see something specific.
