I got this scope new at the beginning of 2016 as part of an imaging package from Stellarvue. Along with the scope, came a 3" Feather Touch focuser, SFFR-130 reducer/field flattener, tube rings and dovetail and a very nice padded case. The cost was $4390. But, this is being sold minus the focuser. I've upgraded it with a motor and electronic focusing kit and I'm keeping it for another imaging system. Vic and others at Stellarvue said they'd be glad to help anyone getting this scope get the correct adapter to go with whatever focuser they are interested in but I suspect anyone interested in this level of scope knows how to track this info down. I am including an Alnitak Flip-Flat flat panel by Optec (if you don't know what this is I can provide more info but it's for astrophotographers to automate flat frames via PC).
This scope hasn't seen much use. Initially, it shared duty with my SCT in a backyard observatory. When my wife and I moved in 2018 to what became a much worse location for astrophotography, I ended up just giving the hobby up. One year ago, I had the idea to try renting a pier at a remote site. My initial interest was in smaller targets so I set up my 11" Edge SCT. I have greatly enjoyed this! But, I miss not doing wider field imaging with my SVA130 and, when this was from my backyard, I could switch between scopes fairly easily. Now, however, it is way too inconvenient to be physically transferring back and forth at a remote site. My solution is to switch to a dual side-by-side set up but the combination of these two scopes is too much for my mount. I'm switching to a new smaller SVX scope from Stellarvue and that's why this is up for grabs. The only thing to report about this scope is one small nick in the paint, which you can see in a photo.
I subtracted for the loss of the FTF and set the asking price at just under 60% of original cost (Alnitak is an extra). I think this makes this quality scope a great deal and I hope someone will get some good use for quite some time. As noted, I'll accept PayPal (I'll cover their charge) or Zelle; buyer pays shipping. Besides photos of the scope and accessories, I've included some images taken with this scope.
