Selling my Evostar 80ED with Black diamond finish.
Scope performed perfectly on every outing. Really nice physical size and weight. Would make a great portable OTA for field trips to dark sites and so on.
Hate to see it go but I need the funds to offset the costs of my new Esprit 100ED.
I've taken the time to finetune adjust the Crayford focuser for proper operation right before packaging. These focusers get out of calibration over time, I thought it would be nice to send it ready to go :-). I've included a photo of my setup with the scope this year. Worked really well.
*(1) scratch on OTA that I can see,..does nothing to effect operation or image. Only cosmetic
*Nice dovetail rail comes with it, shows signs of use, normal. Stainless plate on one side to prevent marking of the rail, nice!
Comes with:
*Scope
*Spotting scope
*Aluminum OEM Case
*Eyepieces that came with it (I believe they are 25mm and 5mm).
*Diagonal - the diagonal has an issue however, I received it with the eyepiece end loose from prism. Not sure how to fix that, but it's included with scope anyhow.
caps for both ends of scope
ships in original box and packaging
$650 includes shipping AND Paypal fees.
Reason for selling:
I upgraded to an Esprit 100ED so this guy has to go to fund that purchase. I am also selling a Explorer Scientific ED102 in perfect condition to help with funding the Esprit 100ED.
I also am selling (1) StarSense auto Alignment tool. $300, shipping included, paypal not included.
Sky-Watcher's description:
"Sky-Watcher’s Evostar apochromatic doublet refractors are the perfect blend of superior extra-low dispersion glass and affordability. The Evostar refractor lens assembly utilizes a proprietary combination of matched lenses, delivering tack-sharp stars with charcoal-black, contrast-rich skies. All ED glass elements are fluorite-based and feature our proprietary Metallic High-Transmission Coatings™ (MHTC™), virtually eliminating all false color while dual-baffles prevent stray light from affecting your photography. Like the optics, the tube is beautifully crafted using aluminum and finished with a black diamond metal-flake finish.
Using a doublet refractor instead of a triplet has some advantages: less glass means less weight, less weight means a less expensive telescope, so you can dedicate more money for your camera or laptop while benefiting from a lightweight astrophotography rig.
The Evostar 80ED comes in a foam-lined aluminum case."
