ES152CF 152mm f/8 Triplet

The $2200 price is with the original ES focuser installed, $2600 as shown with MoonLite focuser.

For sale is my Explore Scientific ES152CF, a152mm f/8 triplet refractor with a carbon fiber tube. I'm including the ES "footlocker" style storage case as well as an Orion padded bag that I used when transporting the scope. The fit of the padded bag isn't perfect, but offers some protection when in the car.

The scope originally shipped with the 3 inch hex focuser, but I wanted a motorized focuser and so installed a MoonLite shortly after buying the scope. It's the CFL 2.5 inch with 4.5 inches of travel. Cost was $835.00 in 2024.

A few things to note here-

 1) When carrying the scope inside one night, the motor housing of the MoonLite got dinged (see photo). It still functions as it should.

2) When Explore Scientific fitted the original focuser to the tube, they didn't equally space all 6 mounting holes. As a result, the original focuser adapter as well as the MoonLite adapter collar have 2 extra holes in them. These holes are not visible when either focuser is mounted on the scope.

3) The insulation on the MoonLite hand controller cable was pulling out of the connector so I put a bead of JB Weld around it (see photo).

I'm offering the scope with the original hex focuser installed or with the currently installed MoonLite focuser.
