For sale is my Baader CaF2 APO 95/580 "Travel Companion," Baader's premium fluorite grab-and-go refractor. Selling because I just don't use my "grab and go" setup. It was a great idea but time doesn't allow me to use it.
Purchased new from Baader Planetarium in April 2026 and used exactly once. It is in as-new condition. I'm the original owner.
What it is:
- 95mm f/6.1 apochromatic refractor, 580mm focal length fluorite triplet
- Compact, lightweight OTA with a 60mm removable tube extension - to enlarge the backfocus for binocular viewing to 210mm
- Baader Diamond Steeltrack RT focuser
A note on the focuser: I ordered it with the Steeltrack rather than the US-made Feathertouch on purpose. The Feathertouch upgrade would have cost a ~$725 the premium plus tariffs on top. The Steeltrack RT is an excellent, precise focuser in its own right, and importantly the OTA fully accommodates the Feathertouch upgrade directly from Starlight Instruments if a buyer decides to go that route.
For the astrophotographers: Baader makes a dedicated M68 3-lens field flattener for this scope (sold separately). Not included here, but worth knowing it exists.

Price: $4,600 which is essentially my cost not counting the shipping and tariff costs. Note that the warranty is transferrable to the new owner.
For reference, my total landed cost was over $5,400 new, including currency conversion and import tariffs. Original Baader invoice available to a serious buyer.
Most of these stay in Europe after a year waiting period to get one — so this is chance to get one faster. You can also avoid the currency conversion and the import tariffs.
I have the original shipping boxes and can ship in the continental US. Local pickup also welcome.
Zelle, Paypal, Venmo, wire, and case are all fine. Buyer to pay any fees and I will split shipping and insurance costs.
