Apogee 4"/f6.4 Widestar - NOT 102 - see pic

This is the original Widestar which Apogee just raised its price on to $895 w/out the rings (cradle assy extra $100). That's a $200 price increase and that's because it's THAT good. The WideStar 102 (or II) is a Chinese-made f5 and has ALOT more coma and color, and is also 3lbs. heavier (11 vs. 8lbs.). Star images in a low power wide angle eyepiece are flat across the field and are visually stunning. Higher powers on the moon and planets are very good with some color, but much better than the Chinese f5's. I have two of these, but am selling one after deciding not to make a binoscope (EMS backs are $2400!) and keeping the other for my travel/quick look scope. I transport it in an Orion HD tripod bag which is a perfect fit. I'm asking $450 for the OTA, but if you want the AZ-3 mount w/Ken Dauzat rings, you can have them for an extra $125.
