The Sharpstar 130 f2.8 HNT is a hyperbolic Newtonian telescope with a 130mm aperture, fast f/2.8 focal ratio, for a focal length of 364mm. Purchased new in 2025 for $1695 from Agena Astro. It has seen very little use and is in like-new condition. If you remove the 1.25” eyepiece adapter it has a 2mm M54 to M48 adapter so you can attach components threaded for M54 or M48. Comes with a very sturdy metal case with foam padded interior.

Just for some background, this is the main imaging scope for a portable astrophotography setup that I’m putting up for sale as individual components. Since I already have a permanent observatory setup for my main imaging, this was only for taking on camping trips with my wife. But, it turns out I rarely set it up at night and soon I stopped packing it. So, despite greatly enjoying putting this system together and loving the ease of setting up and the ease of use, it’s looking for a new home. The reason for choosing this scope was for the speed of the optics, allowing me to get decent images fairly quickly to share with friends and family. But, consequently, the equipment has seen very little use. It has been set up outside less than a dozen times including in my backyard testing everything out.

Extras include a ZWO EAF electronic focuser and a Hotech SCA laser collimator (values of $149 and $165, resp.)

Optional: I purchased a Primalucelabs Giotto electronic flat panel (fits scopes with an external diameter of 147mm to 210mm with a max aperture of 185mm). It uses 12V power, has USB C port and allows wireless control via an app on a smartphone/tablet. Purchased new in 2025 for $350. Asking $140 in a separate ad but if you want it with this scope just indicate so and I’ll take off an extra 10%.

In case you’re interested, here’s a listing of other equipment from this system that are in separate ads. If you’re interested in any of these other components you can just let me know when getting this item and I’ll take off an extra 10% on additional items

I will split shipping costs in hopes of making it an easier decision. I prefer Venmo, Apple Cash, or Zelle but you can use Paypal if you cover their fees.

Thanks,

Terry
