For sale is an excellent condition Orion Skyquest XT12i Intelliscope 12" dobsonian telescope with accessories and upgrades. The only issue is that the azm encoder isnt registering, but i believe its fixable. Read below for full list of upgrades, accessories, and azm encoder status.
I recently purchased and installed a brand new encoder set for it, but still cannot get the azimuth encoder for the intelliscope to register. I'm sure it's because of my lazy susan upgrade and the spacing from the magnet to the encoder, but I don't have the time to mess with it enough to fix it. It worked when i first installed it, but the diodes on that encoder got smashed due to spacing. The new encoder has smaller diodes that don't stick out as much. So I believe the spacing needs to change, or the warped magnet needs to be replaced. The encoder set includes a brand new magnet that can be installed. I just dont have the time. So it is Being sold as currently non functional azm. Altitude encoder works fine. Package includes:
1x Orion Skyquest XT12i Intelliscope with non functional azimuth encoder. ($1250+ retail new). Optics are in fantastic condition with no oxidation
1x skywatcher dual speed focuser
1x lightweight Astrozap Dew shield/light shield for 12" newtonian ($60 retail)
1x set of Farpoint lifting straps for easier transport of the ota. These will be your best friend with this scope!! ($45 retail)
1x set of Bob's Knobs secondary mirror collimation knobs ($25 retail)
1x Orion hand controller with case 4x plossl and kelner eyepieces. Celestron 8mm, 10mm, 20mm and 25mm eyepieces, generic 3x barlow
1x 2" focuser extension with 1.25" reducer to use both 2" and 1.25" eyeieces.($45 retail). The extension for additional back focus was needed for me, due to my incredibly bad vision.
1x Telrad finder scope($45 retail)
1x scope cover tarp for storage
1x skywatcher 9x50mm finder scope with bracker
1x 1.25" laser collimator
1x astrozap primary mirror shroud to cover the bottom of the scope, to keep light pollution and dirt out. ($25 retail)
Upgraded bearing system for lazy susan dobsonian style base that makes aiming and rotating the scope incredibly smooth! ($75 retail plus labor)
Around $450+ in accessories and new encoders. Plus Full internal flocking of the OTA to prevent internal reflections and small computer fan mounted to primary mirror cell. 1x extra brand new encoder set($100) plus the old set, new hand controller shell and internal replacement parts for the intelliscope hand controller. Also includes another broken azimuth encoder(3 total, with one being new) that can be fixed by replacing some diodes, as they just got smashed.
Asking $800 for everything.
