This all-metal 114mm scope improves upon the Edmund Scientific Astroscan beginners' telescope with a larger mirror and a true rack & pinion focuser. It also includes an aperature stop mask for planetary viewing and a carrying strap.
The scope is made by a company called "Canadian Geographic." I take it that the company went belly-up because no more of these are being produced, and a shop in Canada is liquidating them. I paid $120 plus a lot of shipping fees for this unit about 3 months ago.
I've looked through the scope; the view and optics are similar to an Edmund.
This would make a great beginner scope for a kid.
Clear skies!
