This is a copy of an earlier posting with a price adjustment (see bottom).

Selling a 12.5" f/6 Cave Astrola complete with 5 eyepieces, finder, guidescope, and motors on both axes. This scope appears to have been made in January of 1975 (says on the side of the main mirror). Overall condition is good, with a little (minor) rust and some (also minor) oxidation on some of the aluminum "stuff". Main mirror is great (and FULL thickness!) - I just did a Ronchi and star test. The secondary has some minor spotting that does not affect performance. It was stored in a garage for many years.

There is one small problem - actually it's due to the BIGness of the scope itself. I can NOT ship OR delvier (it won't fit in my Jeep), so the buyer will have to travel to Wheeling, WV (about an hour west of Pittsburgh, PA just off of I-70). This is a VERY large scope and needs to have a relatively permanent home, although it is listed as "transportable". The tube is about 80" long and is fairly thick fiberglass. I'd estimate total weight in the neighborhood of 300 pounds.

If you're looking for superb quality in a scope that will last many more lifetimes, this is it!

Looking for best offer over $2,100 or an enticing trade.
