16" f/4.5 JP Astrocraft Telescope "Sweet 16" Zambuto
Custom built in 2014 and in excellent optical, structural, and mechanical condition. Stored in a dry house environment, balance and tracking operate perfectly. Very portable in small and mid-size SUVs.
Primary mirror made in 2014 using Carl Zambuto’s in-house mirror coating facility. Mirror coatings are in great condition. Mirror performs as new. Zambuto certificate included. Can meet up for delivery.
This is a custom built telescope by John Pratte of JP Astrocraft telescopes in Illinois. John is no longer taking new telescope orders. This “Sweet 16” is a rarity. I am downsizing my telescope collection. Views with this 16"er are super sharp right up to high powers. I also use a Zeiss Baader Binoviewer with the telescope. The planetary and deep sky observations are exceptional. Quick cool down from the thin primary Zambuto mirror and two banks of cooling fans.
