DIY clamshell tube cages - Free + shipping

Hi All,

I have a couple of home made clamshell tube 'cages' left over from past projects.

The small one will accomodate max 5-7/8" outside diameter, the larger one is good for a 9-7/8" max tube diameter. Smaller ID tubes can be used with the addition of felt to the inside.

These could also be pressed into service as diagonal cages for a truss type Dob. I once used exactly the same construction technique (but without the hinged split). The inside diameter of the aluminum tubes is 3/8" so I found that 1/4-20 inserts could be expoxied in and were great anchor points.

Could also be used as a mirror box for the same truss type design.

They're free to anyone that can use them. You just pay the postage. They're not heavy, but they are bulky for their weight.
