Classic Meade 2045 (Japan) NEW PRICE!

I recently found and have restored a Meade 2045. Upon inspection, I discovered that it needed a new declination axis knob assembly. I had previously done a 'resto-mod' on another 2045, so I knew how to properly repair this one*.

It turns out that this telescope cleaned up beautifully, and from what I can tell, it's practically new mechanically.  I've cleaned the corrector plate and prism diagonal,(the mirror was perfect) and re-collimated the system.

New components - a new red-dot finder, power cord, table top legs.

Mods - new declination brake shaft and knob,  flocked OTA and applied Black 2.0 to primary baffle for contrast.

Cosmetic issues - several scuff marks on the tube. I decided they didn't merit repainting the OTA.

Tested side by side against my UHTC ETX90. Given the aperture difference, it is very comparable,as expected from Japanese optics.
