Celestron 2" Star Diagonal made in Japan in very good condition. I bought it new in the late 80s, early 90-91, with a C-11, I can't remember exactly. ChatGpt identifies it from pictures as being manufactured before Celestron moved diagonal manufacturing to Taiwan/China and before compression rings became standard. Further, "The tells all line up with known examples of this exact item: Celestron vintage 2-inch mirror star diagonal #93519, made in Japan." The mirror looks pretty good, clean and bright. The Celestron/Meade visual back to 2-inch eyepiece adapter shown is not included but can be purchased separately.
Some features of the diagonal include:
Textured wrinkle-finish black housing with the pyramidal/wedge shape
Male SCT-thread screw-on nosepiece for the telescope side, 2-inch 24 thread
2" eyepiece barrel held by two plain set screws rather than a brass compression ring — older pre-compression-ring design
Small "JAPAN" country-of-origin decal on the housing
