[COLOR="Red"]SCOPE/MOUNT HAS BEEN SOLD[/COLOR]
Celestron NexStar 8SE, original owner, bought new from High Point Scientific 2 years ago. Has been a great scope, however, I recently purchased a used 11 inch Edge HD, and no longer use this setup.
All the attached images were taken with the OTA on an equatorial mount and a DSLR camera.
There are three very minor issues to disclose.
First, I removed the optical tube and mounted it on an equatorial mount. During this time frame, I used the original vixen style dovetail for other uses, and drilled several holes in it. As a result, I have replaced it with a new universal dovetail.
Second, after a solar observing session, the scope was moved away from the sun and the solar filter was removed, however, the scope was not moved quite enough. As a result, a small area of the plastic that encloses the secondary mirror melted, as can be seen in a couple of the pictures. This does not affect viewing or imaging.
Third, a scratch on the finish of the tube, see picture
Optics are in great condition.
Along with the OTA, red dot finder, mount, tripod, 1.25 diagonal and 25mm Plossl eyepiece, I am including an Orion Expanse 9mm eyepiece and a 1.25 Zhumell #3 polarizing filter for lunar viewing.
