Last year I traded in my 8" GOTO scope for a non-GOTO 12" Dob. Fearing life without GOTO, I bought the 5" Nexstar as a hedge against being unable to find anything in the 12". Turns out my fears were unfounded and I can find things in the 12" without assistance. I have, however, successfully used the 5" to observe the planets and Messier objects, and even to find a comet from my house in the city using the one star align method through the trees (it really works). But on the whole, the 5" sits unused and the 12" gets all the dark sky time when I go out to the country on weekends.
This scope is less than a year old and in like new condition. I am the original owner and it comes in original shipping carton and with all the original accessories.
