Pending to Ed - This gently used Celestron C11 OTA is excellent condition. It holds its collimation remarkably well. It has provided our school observatory with spectacular views of the moon, planets, globular clusters, planetary nebulae, dim galaxies and other DSOs. We have also used it for astrophotography (see images of Jupiter and the Crescent Nebula). The only reason to sell it is that we upgraded to an Edge HD. The scope has a FeatherTouch focuser installed (a $350 upgrade), and comes with a Telrad finder that can be mounted in two positions (two mounting bases on opposite sides of the scope - very handy when using an equatorial mount), a 2" visual back as well as a 1.25" visual back, a CGEM style dovetail bar and a long Vixen bar on top. Also included are a Farpoint Bahtinov focus mask, a large AngelEyes flexible dew shield and an almost new soft carrying case with wheels.
This is a large scope and I would prefer a local pickup in Santa Monica (Los Angeles metro area) or at our observatory in Ojai, CA. Note on 7/24/2026: Since the ad has been up for a while, I will now consider shipping as well.
Optional extras are:
• A pair of 4.25" Losmandy rings for a guide scope: $60
• 2" SCT diagonal with 1.25" insert: $50 (great condition with pristine mirror)
• A carry grip with two aluminum Vixen saddle clamps: $55
• A 9x50 Celestron finder with rings: $50
