Sky-Watcher Quattro 300P 12" f/4 Newtonian with the professionally built custom solid Dobsonian mount by AstroGoods.
This is a large, fast 300 mm aperture telescope designed especially for deep-sky astrophotography, while also being an excellent visual instrument.
I want to be completely transparent about its condition. The telescope was damaged during improper shipping. The optical tube has several areas of cosmetic/physical damage, and the secondary mirror has a chip along its edge.
Despite this, the telescope remains fully functional. The primary mirror is intact, and the scope has been successfully used after the shipping damage. The chip on the secondary does not prevent the telescope from producing an image, although a buyer looking for perfect optical condition may eventually want to replace the secondary mirror.
AstroGoods Dobsonian Mount Included:
If you don't have an equatorial mount capable of handling a Newtonian of this size and weight, I'm also selling the telescope with a custom Dobsonian mount made by AstroGoods specifically for the Quattro 300P.
The Dobsonian mount provides a simple, sturdy way to use the 12" Quattro for visual observations without investing in a very large EQ mount. It's also a convenient setup for quick photography of the Moon, planets, and other bright objects.
This essentially gives you two options: use the Quattro on a sufficiently capable EQ mount for serious deep-sky astrophotography, or put it on the AstroGoods Dobsonian mount for easy visual observing and quick imaging.
Because of the condition, I am selling it well below the price of a comparable Quattro 300P in undamaged condition. This could be a particularly good opportunity for someone comfortable working with Newtonians, someone looking for a large-aperture imaging scope at a reduced price, or for a permanent/observatory setup.
Pickup is preferred.
