Vixen (Celestron) Super Polaris GEM

This is a premium medium duty mount with a weight capacity suitable for loads up to an 8" SCT. It is completely outfitted for astrophotography and autoguiding. This package deal includes the mount head, illuminated polar alignment scope, two counterweights, a dovetail plate and block, hardwood tripod, accessory tray, dual axis drives (third motor included), an MD6 single axis controller and a DMD2 dual axis controller with AC adapter and size C battery pack. Both controllers have autoguider ports using an SBIG CCD camera or relay box. I mounted two 8000 CPI encoders, geared at a 4:1 ratio, interfacing to the computer with Brian Kidwell's Deep Space Navigator computer-telescope interface and David Chandler's Deep Space star atlas/telescope interface program running on your pentium-based computer. Serial and encoder cables are also included. The icing on this cake is the hard to find SP half pier that places the mount at a comfortable height for work at the zenith. Also included is a Meade field tripod adapter for the half pier for use in a permanent installation or on the Meade field tripod. As you can see, I have raised this mount to the highest technical heights short of installing a Sky Sensor 2000 PC. Aperture fever struck and the boss says something has to go. Over $1500 invested, I will sacrifice this fine mount and accessories for the incredibly reasonable price of $1100.00 shipped UPS ground. Just add your favorite OTA!
