Up for sale is my Takahashi NJP Mount w/ Robin Casady 1.875" counterweight system. Its been a fantastic performer for the past year that I have owned it. I am only selling this mount because I upgraded to a Paramount ME. The Takahashi NJP has a 70lb pay load capacity and that is pretty conservative. It has been known to handle much larger payloads and image very well.

The legendary NJP mount is known for its low periodic error and this mount tracks very well. I have used it for the past year for unguided imaging with great results in my backyard observatory.

This package includes

1) Takahashi NJP mount ($6500 new)
2) Robin Casady counterweight shaft ($125 new)
3) 4 (14.5lb) Robin Casady counterweights ($636 new)
4) 24V powersupply ($142 new)
5) Takahashi Temma 2 autoguider cable ($105 new)
6) Takahashi Temma 2 RS232 serial computer cable ($35 new)
7) Takahashi Temma 2 handpaddle
8) Takahashi Large Mounting Plate + Clamshell mount adapter
9) Instruction manual, Temma 2 Tracer CD (planetarium software), certificate of inspection

Total new price ($7543). My price is ($3895) which includes free shipping. This represents about 50% off from new pricing!!

I have done many, many hours of imaging time on this mount in the past year. My productivity with imaging went up immensely with this mount because 99% of subs are keepers. Autoguiding is a thing of the past with this mount with proper polar alignment. Most high end mounts (Paramount, 10micron, AP mounts, Tak mounts) are capable of unguided imaging with good PA because of low PE. I have lots of images taken with this mount on my Astrobin (user name tyblakesley). My images are not the greatest because of my processing limitations and dealing with city light pollution, but I have several examples that I am proud of.

There is one cosmetic problem that needs to be fixed (I just haven’t gotten around to it). The trim piece around bubble level has come off (could be fixed with super glue).

Because of the minty condition and the performance/reputation of this mount, I am FIRM on my price. I will pay for shipping to CONUS via FedEx ground and pack it well as long as the buyer picks up PayPal fees. I am only accepting PayPal payments or local cash transaction.

This mount will ship in original Takahashi shipping box and is double boxed for protection. The counterweights, shaft, and accessories will be shipped in separate boxes.

Thanks for reading! I can answer any additional questions about this fine mount.
