SBIG STXL 11002M 16-bit monochrome CCD camera has a full-size imaging chip (37.3mm x 25.7mm) with 9-micron pixels. The cooling with this camera is impressive. I ran it at -30C all year long, even through the South Carolina summers! I sent the camera to Diffraction Limited last year for inspection and cleaning, and I have not used it since. The chip has developed one odd quirk: if you take an exposure shorter than 0.02 seconds, the very top of the image has a thin wedge of uneven illumination (see flat field image posted). For me, that simply meant I needed to avoid short flat frame exposures. If you avoid these very short exposures, this anomaly doesn’t appear. If that minor defect bothers you, think of this as getting 99% of a full frame CCD for a discount price, and remember you're probably going to crop off that top sliver anway.
The camera will come in a hard-sided, foam-padded case. Power cord and printed manual included.
Will ship to US address only. If using Paypal, please either use Friends and Family or add the service charge.
