This spherical excellently corrected 2-element ED APO binoculars works with all the 1.25” eyepieces I could throw at it. Used twice for a few years, it comes with a solid case, three pairs of eyepieces, and a collimator.
The eyepiece pairs are: 24mm 68° Explore Scientific, 16mm 68° Explore Scientific, 10mm 68° Hyperion.
There’s a 7” ADM D-series/Losmandy dovetail bar on the bottom.
The Collimator is useful if you get a little out-of-whack, which never really happened to me.
The nigglings:
- The case is scuffed.
- I had to cut/gouge into the foam at various places to make things it. There’s a slot in the top foam so the handle juts up a litter farther (so I could keep the dovetail bar on), and some finger-holds in the eyepiece holes (because otherwise there was NO WAY to pull the eyepieces out).
- The right dew shield cover doesn’t stay on tightly. Never did. It’s fine at rest, but you have to be careful when moving, or any nudge and it will fall off. Weird, but not something that was a big deal.
